Sarkar’s first look: Health officials review....!!!
First look of Vijay-starrer Sarkar in which the star was seen smoking, had ended when the makers removed the poster from their respective social media handles. The agitated fans of the actor, however, trended the poster on social media with much enthusiasm as a protest of sorts. Now, Somasundaram, Joint Director, Health Department, says that there is a final review from their division to monitor whether the makers have adhered to the law. A source close to the film’s unit, however, says the poster is still doing the rounds on social media, and that it is difficult to take out all of them. “Post reports that health department has sought a ban on the poster, the star’s fans started celebrating the first look again. This seems to be nothing but a planned attack on him. Even the recent release, Asuravadham, had the hero smoking in many scenes.”
He says, “Based on COTPA (The Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act), we had sent a letter asking the makers to remove the poster which showed the actor smoking. We got to know from various media sources that it has been taken off. We will do a final verification on the same on Wednesday or Thursday to check if the makers have obeyed the law, failing of which may require further actions.
