The South Indian Film Producers Association (SIFPA) convened its second meeting in Hyderabad today,!

Chennai 10 May 2026 bringing together key representatives from various producers’ organisations across the four South Indian film industries — Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The meeting witnessed participation from leading producer bodies and guilds representing the collective interests of the South Indian film industry. Discussions were held on key industry matters affecting cost of production, theatrical exhibition, OTT windowing, workforce coordination, sustainability of film financing, and the need for greater inter-industry collaboration among South languages.

SIFPA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a unified and constructive framework across the South Indian film ecosystem, with an emphasis on transparency, industry stability, and collective growth, involving other stakeholders- distributors, exhibitions and buyers of various film rights.

The participating bodies also discussed the importance of coordinated policy approaches and strengthened engagement among all sectors of the industry.

The next meeting of the Association is scheduled to be held in Kochi on 13th June 2026, where further deliberations and structured discussions will continue.
