’The Village That Made Me Say Yes To Yellamma’, Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad Gets Emotional Revisiting His Roots!

Chennai 26 May 2026 As excitement continues to build around YELLAMMA, Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad’s highly anticipated debut as an actor. The musician recently revisited his native village Vedurupaka and reconnected with the traditions, emotions and celebrations that deeply resonate with the soul of the film.

During the Jathara celebrations, DSP spent time at his ancestral home, warmly interacted with the villagers and immersed himself in the spirit of the festivities. Capturing the emotions, memories and cultural energy of the celebrations, DSP shared a heartfelt video on his social media. 

The musician turned actor shared, “Vedurupaka, the village where my father was born. The village where he used to often take us to, in our childhood, all the way from Chennai so that we inhale the purity of nature. The village where we built a beautiful house, so that we stay connected to our roots and our people. The village, that taught me the beauty of culture, folkartd and divinity that extremely inspired me; which made me say yes to Yellamma.”

The video beautifully reflects DSP’s deep bond with his roots and offers a glimpse into the emotional and culturally rooted world of his upcoming film, Yellamma. Presented by Dil Raju, the film is directed by Venu Yeldandi and produced by Shirish under the Sri Venkateswara Creations banner. Yellamma will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
