America Aavi Audio and Trailer Launch – English Press Release Over 200 Newcomers on American Soil… Audio and Trailer of Napoleon’s ‘America Aavi’ Launched!

Chennai, October 10, 2026 The audio and trailer launch event of America Aavi, starring actor Napoleon and directed by debutant director Thanjai JPR, was held in Chennai in a grand manner.

The film is produced by Dhanush Napoleon and Kunal Napoleon under the banner of Jeevan Films.

The film’s audio was jointly launched by Mr. Taka Hasi, Japan’s Deputy Consul in Chennai, and film producer Aditya Ram. Producer Kannan Ravi received the audio release.

Directed by debutant Thanjai JPR, America Aavi features actor Napoleon in the lead role, alongside more than 200 newcomers living in the United States. Nash Will Prabhu has handled the cinematography, while Athish Uthriyan has composed the music. Vinu is responsible for editing, and Indhu Rajkumar has served as the art director. The film is being made as a comedy-horror thriller and is jointly produced by Dhanush Napoleon and Kunal Napoleon under the banner of Jeevan Films.

Proudly presented as the first Tamil film to be shot entirely in the United States, America Aavi is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release soon. The film’s audio and trailer launch took place at the Kamala Theatre complex in Chennai, with several prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry attending the event as special guests, along with the cast and crew.

Producer Kunal Napoleon
Speaking at the event, producer Kunal Napoleon said:

To describe this film, I would say that it is something different. This is the first Tamil film to have been shot entirely in the United States. I was amazed to discover the enormous talent hidden among our people living there.

This is no small achievement. Everyone worked on this film during their limited free time while continuing with their regular jobs. We are all proud of what we have accomplished together.

Let me also explain the title, America Aavi. The word ‘Aavi’ generally makes us think of ghosts, and ghosts are indeed part of this film.

However, the title has another meaning in the American context.

People from many countries have migrated to the United States, and many of them have achieved success through determination and hard work. Their journeys towards success and their efforts to fulfil their ambitions are also reflected through the characters in this film. So, the movie has ghosts and spirits, along with several other interesting elements.

There is another interesting aspect to this project. Dhanush Napoleon is the co-producer of this film. To be honest, he is my boss! Unfortunately, he could not be here today, but he is watching this event live.

He has sent a message to audiences asking everyone to visit theatres with their families and enjoy the film. It is our responsibility to make this film a success.

Actor Napoleon Speaking at the event, actor Napoleon said:

Approximately 200 newcomers have made their acting debut in this film. Some of them include Anto, Thiyan, Arloo, Prema, Biju, Mahesh, Bablu, Arun Antony, Sam Anto, Prakash, Aishwarya, Rajkumar, Indhu Rajkumar, Rahul, Hemamalini, Urvashi and Maithili. Only a few of them have been able to attend this event today.

Everyone who has acted in this film has a professional career. They include software engineers, doctors, scientists and professors, many of whom hold senior positions in major organisations. We made this film in 75 days by carefully planning our shooting schedules around the time they could spare for the project.

From Monday to Friday, everyone is busy with their professional commitments. We planned the shooting schedule carefully to make the best use of the time they could give us.

It was certainly a challenging task. Many of those who acted in this film had never even watched a film shoot in person before. The director and I trained them and helped them perform their roles.
“In Sivaji sir’s Bharatha Vilas, people representing different communities in India appeared in the film. In America Aavi, we have people from across the world. More than 40 nationalities are represented in this film. That makes it truly different, and it will also be an entertaining experience for audiences.

When Sun TV began its live telecast in 1994, director Pandiarajan and I travelled to Manila in the Philippines to inaugurate the transmission. Our close friendship, which began on that occasion, continues to this day. I thank him for coming here and extending his wishes to our team. I am also grateful to everyone who attended the event and blessed our film with their support.

Debut Actor Mahesh
Speaking about his experience, debut actor Mahesh said:
“In January, Napoleon sir asked all of us to come dressed in a particular outfit for the film. We assumed that an audition would take place. However, he told us that there would be no auditions and that we could act in the film.

After that, Napoleon sir taught us how to act. Watching him perform scenes for us was an unforgettable experience. We also had the opportunity to observe and appreciate the various technical aspects involved in making a film.
“Interestingly, my mother plays Napoleon sir’s mother in this film. That makes me feel very proud. We are all eagerly waiting for audiences to watch the film.

Director Thanjai JPR
Director Thanjai JPR recalled his early interest in filmmaking and how America Aavi came into being.
“When I was just nine years old, I used old film strips and sunlight to project images onto a wall. That was how my interest in film direction began.

Later, I produced and directed a film titled Onaigal Jaakirathai. Due to family circumstances, I subsequently settled in the United States. I was worried that living there might distance me from the film industry, so I continued writing stories.

During that period, I had an opportunity to meet Napoleon. I narrated a story to him, and he liked it very much. However, he told me that he could not leave Dhanush and go out to act in the film.

He then asked whether we could make a film entirely in the United States and whether I had a suitable story for such a project.

After lunch, he showed me his newly purchased house. It was a magnificent property spread across three and a half acres, surrounded by beautiful trees. Looking at the house, I felt as though I were standing inside the setting of an English-language film.

He asked me whether I could develop a story around that house. I said I could and returned a week later with a story. He liked it very much but insisted that it should not be a conventional horror film. He wanted a horror film with a strong element of comedy.

We then developed the story further. Napoleon, along with his sons Kunal and Dhanush, worked together with me to shape it into an entertaining screenplay.
“I thank all the technicians, actors and actresses who worked on this film.

Cinematographer Nash Will Prabhu
Cinematographer Nash Will Prabhu, whose full name is Prabhu Thoppudu Amaresan, spoke about his journey into cinematography.

I would like to thank my grandfather, T.S. Amaresan, who directed stage plays featuring R.S. Manohar. He passed away in the 1920s. If he were alive today, he would have been extremely happy to see me working as a cinematographer.

In Chennai, I stayed in the room shared by Manoj Paramahamsa and Arivazhagan, who are now well-known cinematographers. Through that experience, I became familiar with camera lenses, lighting and other technical aspects of filmmaking.

After moving to the United States, I began filming small events with my camera. That was when I was introduced to Napoleon. I subsequently worked as a cameraman at various family functions.

I also filmed Dhanush’s wedding in Japan. Napoleon gradually encouraged and guided me, helping me develop my skills and eventually introducing me as a cinematographer. I am grateful to him for this opportunity.

FEFSI President and Director R.K. Selvamani
Speaking at the event, FEFSI president and director R.K. Selvamani said:
“Watching this film in theatres will be an experience reminiscent of My Dear Kuttichathan. I have already watched the film.

Introducing one newcomer in a film is relatively easy. However, introducing an entirely new cast and teaching everyone how to act is an extraordinarily difficult task. The team gave the newcomers confidence on the sets and brought out performances from them.
“The song sequences were particularly impressive, with everyone dancing in rhythm. This demonstrated their enthusiasm and commitment to acting. I thank dance choreographer Kala Master for her contribution.

Napoleon is someone who believes that every responsibility must be carried out properly, whether as a representative of the actors’ association, an actor or a politician. He approaches every task with sincerity and dedication. He is a genuinely good human being.
“The film’s heroine is a doctor, and portions of the film were shot at her house in the United States. She would participate in the shoot during her free time, and the crew would wait until she was available.
“The film also features a spectacular climactic fight sequence choreographed by stunt director P.C. Stunt. I wish the film great success.

Mrs. Roja Selvamani
Actress Roja Selvamani, who shared the screen with Napoleon in director V. Sekar’s Veettoda Mappillai, said:

I have acted alongside Napoleon in Veettoda Mappillai. He is my fellow actor, and no matter how much I say about him, it will never be enough. He is a good artist, a good politician, a successful businessman and a wonderful father. Above all, he is a good human being.

As a fellow actor, I am delighted to see Napoleon return to the screen after a long time. I, too, have resumed acting after a gap of 12 years.

Once an artist becomes accustomed to audiences, cameras and film sets, it is difficult to step away from that world. Despite our family responsibilities, returning to acting for the sake of our audiences and our love for cinema brings us great happiness.

Napoleon is returning to audiences with an interesting story. We should all support him and help make this film a success through word-of-mouth publicity and social media promotion.

My daughter and I are both frightened of horror films. Nevertheless, we watched this film and enjoyed it.

Actor Nassar spoke about his long-standing friendship with Napoleon and praised his personal qualities.

My journey with Napoleon began with Kizhakkum Merkkum and has continued for more than 30 years. We spent nearly 30 days together while working on that film.

He was the same person then that he is today. The way he planned his life back then is reflected in the life he leads now, and I am very proud of him.

Some titles and reputations are difficult to earn. Through hard work, one may become a millionaire; through dedication to acting, one may become a superstar.

But when people speak about Napoleon, they often place the word ‘good’ before his name. Not everyone earns that kind of respect.

When my son met with an accident, Napoleon was one of the people who offered me tremendous comfort and support. The reputation of being a good person has been earned not only by Napoleon but also by his wife.
“On behalf of the South Indian Artistes’ Association, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to him. Without anyone asking, he voluntarily contributed ₹1 crore as a deposit towards the association’s building.

Napoleon looks remarkably youthful in the film’s trailer.
“I recently wrote an article for a magazine about children’s cinema in India. Films made specifically for children account for less than one per cent of our cinema. We have not given enough attention to creating films for young audiences. I believe this film could appeal to children.

I request children to bring their parents to theatres and enjoy this film together. I also thank everyone who has travelled here from Nashville to support Napoleon and the team.

Producer T. Siva
Producer T. Siva praised Napoleon’s contribution to the film industry and his commitment to his responsibilities.

From the very beginning of his acting career, Napoleon earned a reputation not only as a good actor but also as a good human being. He earned a place in everyone’s hearts.

When he served as vice-president of the actors’ association, he worked tirelessly for its activities. Wherever he went, he approached his responsibilities like a soldier, with discipline and dedication.
“I have watched this film, and it certainly offers plenty of entertainment. I believe it has the potential to be a commercial entertainer.

Napoleon was the first person to make a donation towards the construction of the FEFSI building. The film industry should organise a special felicitation ceremony in his honour.

Throughout my career in the film industry, I have come across two people whom I would describe as truly good human beings. One was Vijayakanth, and the other is Napoleon.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this film.

Dance Choreographer Kala
Dance choreographer Kala spoke about the film’s songs and her long-standing friendship with Napoleon.

Only three songs were screened here today, but the film contains several more. Napoleon and I taught the newcomers the dance movements, and I am happy that they learned them and performed so well.

Napoleon has been a close family friend of mine for 30 years. He has made contributions not only to the actors’ association but also to our dance choreographers’ association.

As Nassar and producer Siva mentioned, Napoleon is a good human being. His wife, Sudha, is equally kind-hearted. I have known her since their marriage, and she has always been cheerful.

This is not merely a film about ghosts. It is a beautiful family entertainer. I am confident that the film will become a super hit.”
Music Director Athish Uthriyan
Music director Athish Uthriyan said:

I met Napoleon through director JPR, which led to the opportunity to compose music for this film. America Aavi marks a milestone in my journey as a film music composer.

The film features five songs. I thank everyone who made this opportunity possible.

Lyricist Snehan
Lyricist Snehan spoke warmly about his bond with Napoleon and his association with the film.

This is a platform filled with affection and goodwill. I could speak about Napoleon for hours. We have shared many thoughts and messages over WhatsApp, and I feel a bond with him similar to that of a biological brother.

I am delighted to have contributed, even in a small way, to a film brought together by so many wonderful people.

I look forward to another occasion when I can celebrate and appreciate him. Thank you all.

Director R.V. Udayakumar
Director R.V. Udayakumar recalled how he cast Napoleon in the iconic film Ejamaan and shared his thoughts on America Aavi.

When Napoleon was acting in Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu, I was directing Urudhi Mozhi.

Cinematographer Ravi Yadav introduced me to a tall, lean man and said, ‘This is Kumaresan.’

I told him then that I would make him a major villain in a film. Later, I cast him in Ejamaan.

It was not easy to convince everyone about the casting, as even Rajini sir initially expressed reservations.
“I explained why Napoleon was the right choice for that character. After hearing my reasons, Rajini sir felt that the idea was interesting and agreed. I made several changes to the story to accommodate Napoleon’s character.

One of the dialogues associated with his character in that film, beginning with the line about a wedding house and the groom, remains popular even today.

Unfortunately, I had the opportunity to work with him on only that one film, but it remains a satisfying experience for me.

However, the team has not revealed who the ghost is in America Aavi! In the film’s poster, Napoleon looks like Clint Eastwood.

We have heard of all kinds of ghosts: old ghosts, benevolent ghosts, evil ghosts, young ghosts, ghosts of people who died in accidents, ghosts of those who died heartbroken after failed love affairs, and even ghosts of people who died without being able to buy a house!

So, I am curious to know which ghost represents America in this film.

Whatever kind of ghost it may be, I am sure Napoleon will present us with a memorable character.

I wish the entire team of America Aavi great success.”

With its comedy-horror premise, an international ensemble featuring more than 200 newcomers, and a production filmed entirely in the United States, America Aavi is set to offer audiences a distinctive cinematic experience.

The film is expected to arrive in theatres worldwide soon.
