“As long as there is breath, there is no end… Inner peace is the greatest victory!” – Actor Suriya shares profound life lessons at the audio launch of ‘Scene’!

Chennai, November 2, 2026 The grand audio and trailer launch event of actor Suriya’s upcoming film Scene, which is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, ahead of the Diwali festive season, was held in Chennai with great fanfare.

Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Scene features Suriya, Nazriya Nazim, Naslen, Anandaraj, Lal, Raj Priyan, and several others in pivotal roles.

The film features cinematography by Vineeth Augustyan, while the music is composed by Sushin Shyam. Positioned as a mass-action entertainer, the film is jointly produced by actor Suriya and actress Jyotika under the banners of 2D Entertainment and Zhagaram Studios. Jayashree Damodaran and Rajasekar Pandian serve as co-producers.

The grand audio and trailer launch event took place at a private college campus in Chennai. The film’s cast and crew attended the occasion, while veteran actor Sivakumar and actor Karthi graced the event as special guests.

RAJASEKAR PANDIAN – CO-PRODUCER, 2D ENTERTAINMENT

Speaking at the event, Rajasekar Pandian said:

“You are going to witness Suriya in a completely different avatar in this film. It will be a unique experience for audiences. It has fantastic comedy, quirky humour, mass moments, thrills, romance, and plenty of entertainment. It is a comedy film, and it will hit theatres on November 6.

2D Entertainment has produced 15 films so far. Scene marks the first production venture of Zhagaram Studios. This banner has been established to encourage young talents and provide opportunities to the next generation of filmmakers and artists.

When director Jithu Madhavan narrated this story to us, we couldn’t stop laughing. My heartfelt thanks to Jithu Madhavan, all the technicians, and the entire cast and crew.”

JAYASHREE DAMODARAN – CO-PRODUCER, ZHAGARAM STUDIOS

Speaking on the occasion, Jayashree Damodaran said:

“Suriya Anna has always had a dream of bringing quality films to audiences. Scene is the beginning of that vision through Zhagaram Studios.

For this film, director Jithu Madhavan and the entire technical team travelled from Kerala to Chennai and stayed here for almost a year, dedicating themselves wholeheartedly to bringing this project to life.

Films are meant to make people happy, and this film will certainly bring joy to everyone. The entire team has worked with great dedication and commitment to achieve this.

We have also identified and provided opportunities to several talented young artists who have gained popularity through social media.”

ACTOR RAJ PRIYAN

Speaking about his journey into cinema, Raj Priyan said:

“My hometown is Devakottai, where Suriya’s film Vel was shot. I was a little boy at that time. I met Suriya and shook his hand. Whenever I shared this story, nobody was ready to believe me. There were no mobile phones back then to capture that moment. But today, I don’t even have to explain it anymore.

Let me openly share something. I never initially thought I could enter the film industry because I believed cinema was not something people like me could easily become a part of. I didn’t even know Chennai well, as I came from a small town like Devakottai.

So, I started imitating scenes from films and posting those videos on social media. At times, I would imitate actor Anandaraj. People who watched my videos encouraged me, saying that I had the talent to become an actor.

Eventually, I got the opportunity to act in this film directed by Jithu Madhavan. On the very first day, I was told that I would be performing alongside Suriya Anna.

I have always loved Suriya Anna’s reactions in his film Mounam Pesiyadhe. I even tried imitating those expressions, but I could never quite get them right!

I am also grateful to the film’s music composer, Sushin Shyam, for giving me the opportunity to write and sing three songs for this film. Two songs have already been released, and another one is yet to come. It will also be a special one.

Until now, life has been quite a colourful and unpredictable journey for me. I hope things get even better from here.”

ACTOR DRAVID SELVAM

Sharing his emotional journey, Dravid Selvam said:

“In 2013, when one of Suriya’s films was released, 15 of us went together as a group to watch the first-day, first-show. After buying our tickets and entering the theatre, we realised there were no seats available. Nevertheless, we watched the entire film sitting on the staircase.

Today, I have been given the opportunity to work alongside that very same Suriya Anna. This moment is extremely emotional for me.

My heartfelt thanks to director Jithu Madhavan for believing in me and selecting me for this role. The team has also provided opportunities to several talented individuals who became popular through social media.

Once actor Naslen gets into the frame, his performance becomes like a whirlwind or even a tsunami!”

DISTRIBUTOR SAKTHI VELAN

Speaking about his long association with Suriya and his journey in film distribution, Sakthi Velan said:

“Twenty years ago, I had the opportunity to meet and speak with Suriya Anna through Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green. From that moment onwards, I got the opportunity to work under his guidance.

I came to Chennai from a small town carrying nothing but dreams. I gradually gained experience by working in film distribution.

We independently distributed Singam 2 across Tamil Nadu through our theatre network. Following the film’s tremendous success, Suriya Anna personally called me and appreciated my efforts. He even rewarded me with ₹10 lakh in recognition of my hard work. The happiness I felt at that moment was immense. It meant so much to me that an actor had recognised and appreciated my efforts.

Later, I wanted to establish my own distribution company. Running a distribution network with offices across Tamil Nadu requires an annual investment of nearly ₹1 crore, apart from the considerable funds needed to acquire and distribute films.

Our company initially distributed the film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. At its success celebration, I met Rajasekar Pandian. During that event, he announced that Sakthi Film Factory would handle the distribution of Kadugu, produced by 2D Entertainment.

Subsequently, I also worked on Jyotika Madam’s film Magalir Mattum. Its success helped Sakthi Film Factory grow significantly. We have now distributed more than 300 films. I firmly believe that this journey became possible because I walked in Suriya Anna’s footsteps and under his guidance.

Suriya has consistently been involved in doing good things. Some people observing his activities from the outside question whether he is doing them for political reasons. In reality, others are turning his good deeds into political discussions.

About 15 years ago, the successor of a prominent political leader from a neighbouring state invited Suriya to enter politics and take up the position of the state’s party president. I later came to know that Suriya had directly declined that offer.

He had made it clear even then that his decision to continue doing good things was entirely personal and that he was not doing them for the sake of politics or public recognition.

Many people wish to place a crown on Suriya Anna’s head. But, as far as I am concerned, his head itself is the crown!

Following Karuppu and Viswanath & Sons, I strongly believe that Scene will complete a hat-trick of blockbuster successes.

Scene is a perfect crime-thriller-comedy entertainer. I don’t think Tamil cinema has witnessed a film quite like this before. The second half reportedly features more than five major theatrical moments that will create tremendous excitement among audiences.

We are also waiting for special permission for 6 AM shows in Tamil Nadu. Once the permission is granted, online ticket bookings will begin.”

ACTOR ANANDARAJ

Speaking at the event, Anandaraj said:

“This stage is not new to me. I have stood on this very stage before and spoken about another actor. Everyone knows how far he has come today. Similarly, there is so much I could say about Suriya. But I would rather let you experience him for yourselves.

In this film, I play Suriya’s father, and I am very happy about it.

The team has specifically instructed me not to reveal certain details about the film, and I intend to respect that.

I sincerely wish director Jithu Madhavan and Suriya a hat-trick of successes with this film. I am confident it will happen.”

ACTOR NASLEN

Expressing his happiness, Naslen said:

“I am extremely happy to be here. Scene is my first-ever Tamil film. The immense love and affection you have shown me as an audience is truly emotional.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone. I hope you continue showering me with the same love even after watching Scene in theatres on November 6.”

MUSIC COMPOSER SUSHIN SHYAM

Speaking about his experience, Sushin Shyam said:

“This is my first Tamil film. Working alongside ‘The One’, Suriya, has been an unforgettable experience for me.

The film has come out extremely well. Everyone has worked incredibly hard to bring this project to life. I sincerely hope audiences will love it.”

ACTRESS NAZRIYA NAZIM

Speaking about her return to Tamil cinema after a long gap, Nazriya Nazim said:

“It is wonderful to meet all of you again after such a long time. I am also returning to Tamil cinema after many years.

I have always loved the affection of Tamil audiences. Thank you for continuously showering me with so much love and support.

Scene will release in theatres on November 6, and I request everyone to watch and enjoy the film.

The biggest reason I returned to Tamil cinema after 12 years is ‘The One’, Suriya. To be honest, working with him has fulfilled one of my long-standing dreams.

Interestingly, after 12 years, all the technicians from Kerala travelled together to Chennai on the same flight for this project.”

ACTOR KARTHI

Sharing some memorable moments from his brother’s cinematic journey, Karthi said:

“Diwali releases have always been very special to all of us.

When I had completed my studies and was working as an assistant director, Kaakha Kaakha was released. I went to Kamala Theatre in Chennai to watch the film.

Before that, whenever my brother’s films were released, I used to eagerly wait to see how the audience would respond, when the crowd would arrive, and when they would applaud.

In Kaakha Kaakha, there is an introductory scene where Suriya falls down shouting ‘Maya!’, followed by the song ‘Uyirin Uyire’. The entire theatre erupted with applause at that moment. An indescribable happiness filled my heart. That was the film in which I saw my brother in an entirely different league.

A little later, I watched Pithamagan. In that film, he delivers the dialogue ‘Sathiyam Thorpadhillai’. But in real life, my brother hardly speaks a word at home! Yet, in that film, he keeps talking throughout. It was quite surprising to me.

Later, I joined Mani Ratnam as an assistant director. During that period, my brother played the character Michael in Aayutha Ezhuthu. He transformed himself completely for that role.

I feel that a similarly different character has come his way again after many years.

We watched Karuppu, where he was in complete ‘God Mode’. Then came Viswanath & Sons. Who else could have handled that character the way he did? He portrayed it beautifully. It felt as though we were seeing Sanjay Ramasamy on screen once again.

And now comes Scene.

After Aavesham, director Jithu Madhavan has created something nobody would have expected. It is neither what you anticipate nor what you might imagine. He has delivered something entirely fresh, with a strong dose of dark humour.

The famous line, ‘Ongi Adicha Ondra Ton Weight-u Da’, has been used in a darkly humorous manner. The film is packed with entertainment, making it particularly special for a festive release like Diwali.

I hear that music composer Sushin Shyam composed the music while staying alone in Goa. Since he stays away from social media and maintains such a private lifestyle, I feel we should give him the title ‘Isai Sithar’!

I have also heard that the film features 16 songs.

Director Jithu Madhavan is quite an introvert. He is usually very quiet, but he has exploded like fireworks through this film!

If you want to succeed in life, you must first decide what you want to pursue. Once you identify your path, you must work hard towards it. Success does not come immediately. It may take time. With time and God’s blessings, success will eventually arrive.

As long as you continue supporting him, my brother will remain enthusiastic, keep working hard, and take everyone along with him to greater heights.

Whenever I see fans sharing posts about my brother on social media, it genuinely makes me happy. Seeing how much people love him and how many consider him an inspiration is truly heartwarming.”

DIRECTOR JITHU MADHAVAN

Speaking about the event and the film, director Jithu Madhavan said:

“When we travelled here with our team, we were discussing how we shouldn’t mess things up in Chennai the way we did in Dubai! We expected an even bigger crowd here. So, we made several plans about what to say and how to approach the event.

Eventually, we all decided that no matter how much we planned, we would probably end up messing things up anyway! So, we decided not to worry too much and simply come here and speak naturally.

Raj Priyan told me that he didn’t know how to speak on stage, but he ended up speaking for half an hour! He is also a poet. I certainly cannot speak as well as he does.

There has already been a lot of discussion about this film online. We have released three teasers and one trailer. Just watch them. Whatever you feel after watching those promotional videos will give you an idea of what the film is about.

Come to the theatres on November 6. Let’s celebrate Diwali together!”

ACTOR SURIYA

Addressing the gathering, Suriya delivered an emotional and inspiring speech, sharing his thoughts on cinema, his fans, his journey, and the meaning of success and happiness.

“This is a very important occasion for me – the audio launch of Scene.

At this moment, I would like to remember Deva Sir, who composed the music for my debut film Nerukku Ner. My prayers and heartfelt respects are with him. He will always remain in our memories.

The tune of his song ‘Aval Varuvala’ is something that continues to identify me even today. Deva Sir was the starting point of my journey and one of the reasons I have come this far.

What made this stage truly beautiful today was the presence of all of you, my fans, who have travelled from different parts of Tamil Nadu. It is your love that makes this occasion so special.

It has been 28 years since I entered the film industry. Yet, your affection towards me has not reduced even slightly. You continue to shower me with the same love and make me feel special whenever I stand on a stage like this.

What should a fan welfare association stand for? Who are we, and how should we conduct ourselves? We don’t have to prove ourselves to others.

I once told my fans, ‘No matter what others say, do not feel the need to respond or argue with them.’ You have respected that one request and continue to show the same unconditional love and affection.

We started our blood donation initiative with 500 donors. Today, that number has grown to 5,000 blood donors every year.

We have several WhatsApp groups that include doctors, lawyers, businesspeople, engineers, and professionals from different fields.

Recently, a young person needed surgery on his leg. We shared his situation in our doctors’ group, and immediately, doctors came forward to perform the surgery successfully without charging any fees.

All these people are part of one family. That is my family.

Jo and I watched Jithu’s Romancham and laughed uncontrollably. I also loved his film Aavesham. Every world he creates is different and unique. I believe Scene will also be a completely different experience.

This year is particularly special for me, as three of my films are being released. I think the last time three of my films were released in a single year was Maayavi, Ghajini, and Aaru.

I decided to act in Karuppu after listening to the story for just 45 minutes.

After continuously doing action films, I wanted to explore family-oriented stories. That was one of the reasons I chose Viswanath & Sons. You appreciated that film too.

Similarly, Scene will be a film that you wouldn’t have expected from me.

I am proud to be part of the film that marks music composer Sushin Shyam’s debut in Tamil cinema.

I request everyone to come to the theatres without any preconceived expectations, enjoy the film, and have a wonderful time.

Actor Dhanush mentioned in one of his tweets that he was postponing his film to make way for my film. I sincerely thank him for that gesture.

There is a question that has always remained in my mind about success. What exactly does it take to succeed? Is success alone enough?

We see success and failure every single day in our lives.

At the age of 20, we want a job. At 25, we want to have a certain amount of money in our bank account. At 30, we dream of buying a house. By 50, we may aspire to build a grand home.

I have now crossed 50 years of age.

But today, what I truly desire is peace of mind. I want to remain healthy. I believe these two things are the most important aspects of life. If we have these two, everything else will fall into place.

We cannot choose our parents. We cannot choose our brothers or sisters either. We are born into the families we are given.

People often say that having the right life partner is a blessing. In the same way, the person who holds my hand and leads me forward today is my Jyothika. I am truly grateful to her.

Have faith in life. Life is beautiful.

As long as we continue to breathe, everything in life remains open to reconsideration. Anything can change. Anything can be corrected.

As long as there is breath, there is no failure. Nothing is over. Nothing is permanently lost. Nothing is beyond repair.

Everything can be set right.”
