Chennai 28 February 2026 The audio launch of the film ‘Vadam’, produced by producer R. Rajasekhar on behalf of Masani Pictures, starring Vimal and Natty Nataraj, directed by Kendran. V. and composed by T. Imman, was held in Chennai.

‘Vadam’, which will be released in theaters worldwide from March 6th, stars Vimal, Natty Natraj, Sanaska Sri, Muniskanth, Bala Saravanan, ‘Aadukalam’ Naren, Madhusudhan Rao, Deepa, Indumathi Manikandan, director and actors Sravanan Sakthi, Moorthy, Jagan and many others. Prasanna S Kumar has handled the cinematography of this film and Shabu Joseph has edited it. The film’s crew attended the audio launch of this film, which is set against the backdrop of the village heroic game called Vadamanju Virattu, with entertaining elements.

Speaking at the event, Producer Rajasekhar said,

“I am new to this industry. The director met me six months ago and told me about the cow before telling the story. We liked it. After that, he explained the story in detail in two or three meetings. After that, we discussed it with my partners. The director brought it to the screen exactly as he told us the story. We were happy to see it. First of all, I would like to thank him for this. All the actors and actresses acted well. Especially Iman’s music was excellent. Everyone gave their full cooperation without any discrimination of being a new production company or a new producer.

I come from a village. We have a lot of connection with cows. I think a cow lives for only eighteen years. We all have a connection with cows through tea, coffee, milk, and curd. The 18 years live and die for us. Even today, they are still in temples as Nandeeswarar. We consider it a privilege to make a film about cows like this.

“Many people take what they see on the silver screen as their role model. We are proud to have said this. We thank God and the people for this,” he said.

Actor Muneekkanth said, “Thank you to the director for giving me the opportunity. He welcomed us all with a warm welcome on the set, unlike a new producer. I wish him continued production. I have been working with Vimal in many films. I have acted in a few scenes with Natty in this film.”

Usually, when acting in a scene, fellow actors only compliment me after the scene is over. While acting in this film, you are acting well and you should improve even more, Natty encouraged me. I was proud of this and I express my gratitude to her.

Director Kendran said, “After I finished writing the story, I first told it to the music director Iman. The moment he listened to the whole thing and said that I would compose the music, I knew that this film would be a hit. I thank Iman for this.”

Following him, I told the story of the film to Vimal. After that, I told it to Natty, and he said, “Will you make the film exactly as you told it without changing it?” When I said, “I will definitely do it,” he agreed to act in it, too.

We were looking for a lot of heroines for this film. Once I saw a photo on WhatsApp status. That photo was beautiful. I didn’t think of anything else. Then we looked for her. She was acting in my friend’s film. We got her to act. She also acted wonderfully in the film. She will become a good artist in Tamil cinema in the future. That is why I agreed to produce it.

This is the first film I am working with Vimal. Before this, he and I were supposed to work together in a web series called ‘Om Kali Jai Kali’. But due to unavoidable reasons, I did not act in it. Director Kendran gave me the opportunity to act with him in this film. Vimal always has a realism to him and that is a huge strength of this film.

In this film, there is a fight scene set in the court premises. Wimal has acted wonderfully in it. It should show heroism but at the same time it should be kept within limits and under control. He acted well keeping this in mind.

The screenplay of this film is like a shuffled deck of cards. The cameraman, editor, fight master, and music director Iman have brought it to life.

Deepa, Saravanan, Shakthi and Bala Saravanan have formed a formidable team. The audience will surely laugh at all the scenes they appear in.

I would like to share a true story about production.

When Robo Shankar Mama passed away, I was shooting for the film ‘Vadam’ in Courtallam. The shooting was going on at a huge cost. I was informed only on the first night. I told the director slowly. I knew that they would not allow me to leave the shoot. However, I told the director that we would ask and see, and that I would fly to Chennai at night, pay my respects to him in the morning, and immediately board the plane and return to the shoot by noon.

A thousand supporting actors, people, cowherds, and a large number of cows had also arrived from Sivaganga. The shooting was going on at a cost of about 15 lakh rupees. I asked if there were any other scenes. They said no. After that, I continued to participate in the shooting. I told my wife, ‘You go and console me.’

The next evening, he called everyone and paid a silent tribute to Robot Shankar with tears and a big black banner. He donated 500 sarees to the villagers there. He donated 2000 saplings throughout the area and had them planted. Producer Rajasekhar touched my heart by doing this tribute that I could not pay in person. I would like to express my gratitude at this moment.

But I did not have any confidence. I was satisfied only after watching the film the day before yesterday. He had filmed the story he told me perfectly.
