From the ’90s to Gen Z – Jayaram and Simran’s New Family Rom-Com Bridges Generations! Grand Pooja Ceremony Held!

Chennai, August 23, 2026: The grand pooja ceremony of a new film starring actor Jayaram and actress Simran in the lead roles was held in Chennai in the presence of the film’s cast and crew, along with several prominent personalities from the film industry.

Produced jointly by K. Vijay Pandian under White Carpet Films, the production house behind Dejavu and Vithaikkaran, and Shanjan G. under Redacted Studios, the film is presented by Arya under The Show People.

The film is written and directed by SY Gowthamraj, who has previously directed films including Raatchasi and Kazhuvethi Moorkkan.

A family rom-com entertainer, the film revolves around the relationships between the Gen Z generation, the 2K generation and those who grew up in the 1990s, along with the interesting incidents that unfold in their lives. The film is crafted with a lively and entertaining screenplay that explores the lifestyles, thoughts, relationships and mutual understanding between people from different generations.

The story is designed as a wholesome family entertainer that can be enjoyed by audiences of all age groups.

Alongside Jayaram and Simran in the lead roles, Ponvel, who impressed audiences as a child artiste in Vaazhai, plays a pivotal role in the film. Devika Sathish and Bhagavathi Perumal (Bucks), among others, are also part of the cast in important roles.

Deepak is handling the cinematography, while Achu Rajamani is composing the music. Arul E. Siddharth is handling the editing, and Mahendran is serving as the art director.

Karthik Netha is writing the lyrics for the songs, while Anusha Viswanathan is the choreographer. M. Mohamed Subier is handling the costume design, and Shayad Malik S is in charge of makeup.

SN Ashraf serves as the Production Controller, while D. Udayakumar is the Production Executive. Saravanakumar is the Creative Producer, and Sairam is the Executive Producer.

Vijay Venkataraman serves as the Production Coordinator. Kannadasan DKD is handling the publicity designs, while Jayakumar Vairavan is in charge of still photography.

Satheesh (AIM) is handling the film’s public relations, while Raj. Kathirhasan serves as the Associate Director.

The pooja ceremony was held in a grand and उत्सव-like atmosphere, with several members of the film fraternity, along with the cast and crew, participating in the event and extending their best wishes to the team.
