Tamil Cinema’s First Volleyball-Themed Film “ATTACKER” Launched with a Grand Pooja Ceremony !

Chennai 19 June 2026 Produced by Dinesh Raj under the banner of Zinema Media and Entertainment Limited, a BSE-listed company, Attacker stars Pavish, nephew of actor Dhanush, alongside Avantika Sundar, daughter of actor-director Sundar C and actress Khushbu, who makes her Tamil cinema debut with this film. The project was officially launched today in Chennai with a traditional pooja ceremony.

Attacker is the third Tamil production from Zinema Media and Entertainment Limited. Written and directed by debutant filmmaker Dhamo Nagapooshnam, a former associate of acclaimed director Pa. Ranjith, the film marks a unique addition to Tamil cinema.

Set against the backdrop of volleyball, Attacker becomes the first Tamil film to place the sport at the core of its narrative, while also exploring the culture, traditions, and community spirit that surround it.

The launch event was graced by acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith and renowned film producer, distributor, and industry analyst G. Dhananjheyan as chief guests. Indian volleyball players G. R. Vaishnav and L. M. Manoj, along with several distinguished personalities from the sporting community, were also present to extend their support and best wishes to the team.

Addressing the gathering, Pa. Ranjith said, “I was the first person to introduce volleyball in my village. The sport played a significant role in shaping and inspiring many youngsters. It is truly encouraging to see a Tamil film being made with volleyball at its heart. I wish the entire team of Attacker great success.”

Speaking at the event, G. Dhananjheyan remarked, “Dinesh Raj is a producer who understands how to balance quality and scale. He consistently delivers films that are both financially disciplined and visually grand. I am confident that Attacker will resonate strongly with audiences.”

Our cast has undergone rigorous volleyball training for over six months. Several leading Indian volleyball players, including Ajith Lal and many other national-level athletes, will also be seen in pivotal roles.

The recently released promo video of Attacker has garnered lakhs of views and generated significant buzz across social media platforms, further raising expectations for the film.
