Chennai 23 September 2021 Veteran director Bhagyaraj and producer Ravindar Chandrasekaran appreciate film directed by 18-year-old.

A 50-minute film titled ‘Kaatriniley’ directed by eighteen year old Eashwar Gopala Krishnan has been appreciated by several celebrities including veteran director K Bhagyaraj and producer Ravindar Chandrasekaran of Libra Productions. The movie was recently premiered at Sathyam cinemas.

Sharing his views after watching the film, Bhagyaraj said, “The first scene is very important to capture the attention of the audience and the young team has done that very well.

The self confidence of director Eashwar Gopala Krishnan should be appreciated. I would like to appreciate the friends of all the technicians who have contributed to this film. I would also thank the parents of Eashwar for identifying their son’s passion and encourage him to continue in the path.’

Ravindar Chandrasekaran said that Eashwar has made something beyond his age.

“The quality of the movie by a young team is really appreciable. The effort of the entire team is clearly visible in the project. I appreciate Eashwar and his team,” he added.

Speaking about the project, Eashwar who has also written the story and screenplay for the movie said that it is a romantic melodrama which happens between two people in a single night.

“When I was studying tenth standard, I saw ‘Kattradhu Tamizh’ movie directed by Ram. A particular line ‘Kadhai pesikondu va kaatrodu povom’ from one of the songs is the inspiration for this film,” he said.

Eashwar added that he wanted to make a different love story.

“Kaatriniley does not have any intimate scenes, drugs or alcohol. I wanted to explore something beyond all these. Those who have watched the movie have appreciated it. We are planning to release the film in a popular OTT platform,” he added.

Eashwar said that he was interested in movies even as a child. “From sixth standard I started making short films along with my friends. Then I wanted to make a professional film which has now resulted in ‘Kaatriniley’. My uncle and cinematographer M V Panneerselvam has guided me in this journey so far. I consider director Gautham Vasudev Menon as my role model. The film also has a few scenes which are inspired by and dedicated to him.”

Eashwar, who is currently in his first year of college, added that he will try to make feature films after completing his studies.

Arun Krishna and Dhakshana have played the lead roles in the ‘Kaatriniley’. The film is bankrolled by Eashwar’s mother Viji Balanchader. Yohaan Manu is the music composer of the flick. Cinematography and editing are done by Sudharshan R.
