Charu Haasan to get ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’

‘‘DhaDha 87’, a movie written and directed by Director Vijay Sri G, Charu Haasan played the role of an action packed gangster when he was 87,and even today at 90 years of age, he continues to play his part in the regional films. Charu Haasan who is elder by 4 months to Veteran Hollywood Star Clint Eastwood is the only eldest artist across the world, who continues to work in films at this age that requires a special mention here.

In appreciation and recognition of his efforts and contributions to the art, he will receive ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ at this festival on 12 Dec, the opening day.   Charu Haasan, a recipient of ‘National Award’ for the movie ‘Tabarana Kathe’(1986) has so far acted in around 50 films in all South Indian regional languages.
